It was love at first sight when we stepped into the ultra fresh new event space Chez-Chicago early this year! It is stark and modern in style and has this ethereal light streaming in that feels like you are dreaming! It was the perfect backdrop for our Lichtenstein inspired wedding day! All it needed was that POP! And lucky for us, Amanda Hein was there to capture it all on film! She really has a great eye!
All things paper were created by Kara and the team at Magnificent Milestones. Her combination of dots and swirls, colors and patterns were right up our alley! She paid close attention to the details to set the tone for a fun and playful welcome. Don’t you just love the skittles? We couldn’t resist!
Once inside you are greeted with portraits of the bride & groom that we created out of flowers! We were inspired of course by the silkscreen paintings of Mr POP Art himself, Andy Warhol. A little comic book humor; he looks ever-ready to marry his beauty with a vivacious I DO!
We really want this print for our kitchen! Kale chips, beet chips, yam chips oh my! Let’s start with a Blood Orange Martini – the signature drinks for the night!
If you get the chance you want to sit at her table! The food was so carefully curated and just look at the fresh vibrant colors! LOVE!
To carry out the evening Dilly LiIy created the florals and styled the room – which would not have been possible without our constant partners at Tablescapes Event Rentals which provided all the contemporary table setting ( triangle plates and cool stemware) as well as the uber cool white laquer table and white mirage ghost chairs – which we have been using over and over for our brides! SO chic! And a special thanks to our Dilly Lily partners at Frost Lighting for always shining a light on us and setting just the right mood for any room! Let everything be shown in its best light!
Christopher’s proposal to Elizabeth is that of a fairytale. The beautiful couple got engaged while at a castle in Europe, and wanted their wedding flowers to not only reflect their elegant style, but also the rich natural style of their engagement.
Our lovely bride wears a long fitted blue mermaid style dress that compliments the lush earthy greens that covers her tablescape.
Our forest themed look has accents of succulents , peacock feathers, and blue mercury glass. The barked wood containers, driftwood, ferns, and moss add to the woodsy aesthetics of the photo shoot. Instead of a traditional white dress this bride chose blue embrace the dress her mother wore almost 30 years ago for her wedding. The orchids were the first flower she fell in love with on her journey to becoming a floral designer.
To get married with Dilly Lily flowers, surrounded by nature would be a dream come true.
Ally and Ben’s Chicago wedding was filled with love, happiness and peonies! The Dilly Lily had a great time designing and delivering the urban-rustic inspired florals for this fun and elegant wedding at Loft on Lake!
The birch pole Chuppah was lightly decorated with white blooms, seeded eucalyptus and vines trailing loosely across the birch.
Following the wedding trends, Ally chose burlap table runners, mercury vases with soft and romantic vintage florals as her theme.
A lifetime of happiness to the happy couple!
We had a wonderful time working with everyone that made Ali and Ben’s special day perfect!
Dilly Lily had an amazing time at FLEUROTICA2013. There was an abundance of talent this year and we are so grateful that we were among them.
We would like to first and foremost thank our beautiful hosts: Deirdre Koldyke, Shauna Montgomery, and Whitney Lasky, they did a fantastic job! Thank you to the Fleurotica Committee, you did a wonderful job bringing us all together and giving us a platform to be creative. Thank you to the The Garfield Conservatory for providing their benefits, and to Museum of Contemporary Art.
